THE Three Towns Opportunities in Retirement (OIR) are introducing an exciting new activity for their next session, which starts back on Thursday, September 1 at 12.45pm in Ardrossan’s Civic Centre.

The group is now offering walking football, so if you are over 50 and retired and enjoy meeting new people, why not go along and give it a bash?

OIR offers a range of exciting activities such as Ballroom Dancing, Aqua Aerobics, Scrabble and much more.

The group’s last new activity, The Chance to Dance, proved to be a huge success, as the pictures by our photographer Charlie Gilmour show.

Wendy Sneider from the Three Towns OIR encouraged people to get involved.

She said: “The Chance to Dance has been very successful and extremely popular.

“Walking football is being introduced this session. It’s something new and different and is open to both men and women. We got a grant from the council’s Participatory Budgeting and that’s been a great help to us.

“Anyone who wants to come along will be made most welcome. Come and join the fun, come and give it a try.

“Our website is now up and running where people can find out the latest information on a monthly basis.”

The Three Towns OIR meets monthly for tea and coffee in the Civic Centre on the first Thursday of the month from 12.45–3pm.

Annual membership is just £3 and you are welcome to try a group four times before joining.
