FEARLESS pupils at St Anthony’s Primary in Saltcoats got up close and personal with exotic creepy crawlies and reptiles during a visit from ZooLab.
The handling experience company brought in a snake, lizard, tarantula, scorpion, millipedes and centipedes for the P1 and P4/5 children to hold.
Mr Alan Burns, Principal Teacher at St Anthony’s Primary, told the Herald that the kids were “fearless” with the exotic creatures.
He said: “The biggest thrill for the children was the snake. They all got to touch it, which they were really excited about.
“ZooLab are an organisation who bring in live animals such as snakes, lizards and tarantulas. It gives the children the chance to see and experience these animals while learning all about them and their habitats.
“P4/5 are currently studying mini beasts as their topic so that was why we brought ZooLab in for them, while we had it for P1 to give the new children a treat.”
