A SALTCOATS couple who lost their little boy to a rare childhood cancer are holding a fundraising race night this week in his memory.

The event, on Friday, is in memory of four-year-old Daniel Gilmour, who lost his battle with neuroblastoma three years ago

As the Herald reported previously, Daniel’s parents, Fiona McGill and Paul Gilmour, have raised tens of thousands for cancer charities over the last few years. Most recently, Fiona took part in the Three Peaks Challenge.

Fiona told the Herald: “We raised over £6,000 on our Three Peaks in 24 hours. It was extremely tough. We are hoping to raise the total to £10,000.

“Tickets for our race night are £10 and this includes a drink and food. We have some amazing prizes on the evening.”

Race Night in Aid of Calum’s Cabin and Neuroblastoma Society takes place at 7pm on Friday, September 30 in Ardrossan Whitlees Centre. The fundraiser will include an auction, raffle and entertainment.
