A STEVENSTON man has been locked up after pleading guilty to assaulting two cops at his home.

Jonathan Stirling attacked the officers, one man and one woman, biting the former on the ear.

The 29-year-old admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by adopting an aggressive attitude towards the two police constables at his home address in Hayocks Road on June 25.

Then, when taken to Saltcoats police station that same day, he assaulted both the officers.

Stirling admitted assaulting the female officer by trying to headbutt her and then by pulling her to the ground.

He also pleaded guilty to repeatedly trying to bite the male officer and eventually biting him on the body.

Sentence was deferred until a later date for background reports; bail was refused and Stirling was remanded in custody.
