THE Open Day at Dalry Station on Friday August 5 was a huge success.

ScotRail Maintenance Team had the station looking great for our inspection at 10am by Ingrid Roughead from Keep Scotland Beautiful and DSGG is hopeful of a favourable report.

The Wildflower Meadow and Biodiversity Area was officially opened by John Yellowlees (Public Relations Manager, ScotRail). The knitted and crocheted bees decorated the Beehive made by Bob, which was the focus of a good photo opportunity. DSGG took everyone on a tour of the station, admiring Poetry on the Platforms, before walking to the Greenbank Inn for coffee and cake.

DSGG would like to thank the members of Dalry Parish Boundary Trust for their continued support and Kenneth Gibson (MSP) Patricia Gibson (MP), Friends of the Earth for wildflower seeds and information, Advertisign for Banners and posters, Dalry Library for a terrific window display, crafters for wonderful bees, all the other garden volunteers along the line, Leo du Feu for advice on artistic matters, members of Dalry Community Development Trust, Raman for providing music, Phyllis poetry, Irvine’s for the lovely, scrumptious cake, the Greenbank Inn’s hospitality, Ed for the photographs and friends and supporters from Dalry and further afield.
