POLICE in the Garnock Valley arrested two men and a 15-year-old boy during raids over a day of action.

Officers investigating a series of break-ins to properties, recently arrested the three people and following a period of extensive enquiries, a number of properties in the Beith area were searched under warrant, and two men age 38 and 17 and a 15-year-old male were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of break-ins to commercial premises across Ayrshire.

Chief Inspector Brian Shaw, Area Commander in North Ayrshire, said: “Operation RAC was launched by Police Scotland to coordinate efforts in tackling housebreaking and associated crimes across Scotland.

“Housebreaking is particularly personal and distressing for victims. We will continue to actively pursue anyone involved in acquisitive crime and our communities can help us by reporting any suspicious activity they witness, as well as ensuring they keep their homes, outbuildings and businesses appropriately secured at all times”.
